Digital Access Pass vs Wishlist Member – Software To Run My Site

by Gavriel Shaw

in Business

I have been getting requests for the software I am using to build and run my site including its design flexibility and membership features.

First, I use WordPress as the platform. It’s free from wordpress.org and recommended for any website big or small, complex or simple.

Next, I use the Thesis Theme because of it’s SEO value, clean design-scape and incredible flexibility.

I was using Wishlist Member but for a number of reasons decided to switch over to Digital Access Pass for running my membership site features.  DAP has definitely overtaken WLM with outstanding innovations.

So there you have it. To run my site I use WordPress with the Thesis Theme and Digital Access Pass.

I use semiologic which cost $295 and a yearly fee of $175. In return I get a theme that gives you limited design, broken plugins and every wordpress upgrade is a nightmare.

Thesis only cost $164 for the developer option ($87 for the personal option) with lifetime upgrades yet they’re far superior. Semiologic’s own site doesn’t even look good.

Guys like Matt Cutts (Google) and Brian Clark (copyblogger) are using Thesis so you know it’s a safe bet.

I will surely make the change to Thesis and feel much happier.
