Aggressive MarketingWhy did I name my blog The Aggressive Marketer In Me… ?

Aggressive Marketing Is About…

Well first of all, for the publicity factor of it.  Aggressive Marketing has a good attention grabber factor.  It positions my blog as being different to mamby pamby marketing.  Which most marketing is, though it doesn’t like to admit it.  Aggression suggests power, competitevness, and ultimately it suggests winning.

These are things I like to do, and like for my clients.

Aggressive Marketing – Dominate A Category

Aggressive Marketing also hapens to be a term already used in marketing.  So I haven’t ‘created a new category’ in the market.  But I’ve enterred an existing conversation within my market and intend to dominate it.. ‘aggressively’.

A major part of effective branding comes from differentiating yourself from the competition.  That’s a common view right?  But how do you actually do it?  One way is to create a new category in your market.  For example:

Aggressive Marketing In Soft Drinks

Red Bull enterred the soft drink market… but did not do so merely as yet another soft drink.  They created a new market category.  Energy Drinks.

That was a more aggressive marketing move than simply calling themself another soft drink, or ‘better than coke’.  It cut into the existing market share of soft drinks by dominating a new category.

That’s effective marketing. That’s aggressive marketing. And that’s what my blog will show you.
