Unbeknownst to most, we are chained..
Frustrations
Nathan Flame, laying, body tense, across his bedroom floor, the pain, the hurt, the deep frustrations that went to his very core. 15 years old, just a boy, he should not have experienced what he had done in life so far. He began to cry, a quiet, slow, wail… blank-out. Moments later, jaw drawn tight with determination, fists clenched, Nathan propped himself up on his elbows. He looked around his room, at his shelves not with magazines or old toys, but with books, and his walls, not with football posters, but with quotes, charts, symbols of growth and development and control. Having just done something that he had up to then not allowed of himself; having just accepted and fully allowed the wash of hurt and frustration to fill him, fully accepting it within his body, he now felt at ease again, at ease with his frustrations, at ease with himself, for though the present was tough, and though the future would be a struggle, he could see the wonders of discovery and achievement that lay before him. Facing skywards, to the universe he expressed… ‘I WILL WIN!’
Failure
We have seen in Identifying Intent that we hold certain values and certain dreams of accomplishment, possession, ability, and experience.
Lets define failure as ‘not achieving those things that we want’. The failure is insignificant if the desire was small. Where the desire was burningly strong, or where the psychological need for those desires were strong, and we still didn’t achieve it, then that is a big life failure.
All that you saw for yourself in Identify Intent is either achieved or not. If it is not, you have failed.

The Death Orientation
When in the fragmented, isolated, fearful, empty position which exists with self-dishonesty, laziness, lack of knowledge, and suppression, people hold to a death orientation.
Do YOU hear the spirit??

The man whispered, “Spirit, speak to me” and a meadowlark sang.

But, the man did not hear.

So the man yelled “Spirit, speak to me!”

and the thunder rolled across the sky.

But, although the man heard, he did not understand.

The man looked around and said, “Spirit let me see you.”

and the stars shone so brightly.

But, the man did not notice.

And the man shouted, “Spirit show me a miracle!”

and a butterfly emerged from its cocoon, dancing in the air.

But, the man did not see.

So, the man cried out in despair,

“Touch me Spirit, and let me know you are here!”

Whereupon, Spirit reached down and touched the man.

But, the man brushed the butterfly away, and walked on.

The essence of conscious life is control – the ability to control one’s affairs, surroundings, and future. A person in control is happy and will prosper. A person out of control is unhappy and will fail.
Many people maintain an image of control.

Shakespeare identifies through Macbeth that conscious life in a mortal anticivilisation shrinks to meaningless nothingness:

Self-chosen parasitism moving toward criminality
People accept their fragmentation, thus they can’t see reality clearly, and hence the resultant life failure’s, including seeking higher authorities for ‘help’ and guidance, which allows the suppression of themselves and society.
People will in fact encourage and support parasitism and criminality against others, their neighbors, coworkers, and friends.
Self-driven failure moving toward suicide

We accept less with the view to ‘get by’. We accept failure, and thus diminishes our spirits.
Self-accepted aging and decline moving toward death
Today’s Western culture accepts diseases and false treatments. Eating bad foods, not exercising, and allowing their physical degeneration.
Unfortunately, the herd look no further than their present comfort, and cannot learn from experience. Implications and consequences are alien concepts to such animals, who are fully occupied just keeping from drowning in the stormy seas of their lives. They have no time for investigating the nature of life and death: they have no time to live. – Poison

Causes
Two questions:
- What blocks us from manifesting our intent?
- What creates and imposes the blocks?
Why do those life failures occur? What causes us to fail to manifest our real intent? What stops us from removing the blockages to the fulfilment of our Intent?
We will explore:
- What are the various Internal and External blockages and limitations that prevent our fulfillment and lead to failure
- Why and how those blockages come about
And then you may find the Truman exit door that you perhaps have been searching through the years to find.
The Three Causes of Failures
The three broad categories of the causes of failure are:
- Lack of knowledge
- Laziness
- Suppression by others

Lack of Knowledge
It is ironically unfortunate that with better knowledge, children wouldn’t allow laziness or suppression to get in there way of happiness, but that as children of course the thing that we do lack is primarily knowledge.
How can a person succeed if there is no learning? People might try to succeed, even with good effort, but without actually digging into gaining the knowledge necessary, they will have very limited success.
Lack of knowledge can be due to either limitation of time, or laziness, or suppression.
Laziness
In the DTC section of Gathering Intent you will find a success/failure chart. The essence of failure is laziness. And in turn, the essence of laziness is self-dishonesty (explained later). Laziness is opposite to the power required for Intent.

By being lazy, we allow pain into our lives, we diminish our self-worth thus our self-esteem, our happiness bank becomes more and more empty, and so the point of pain that we feel within our self becomes lower. The fundamental psychological choice that we have is to focus or not to focus.
If physical laziness: Learn how to Get off your ass and do!
If mental laziness: Focus; do rigorous thinking; develop your honesty.
Suppression

Fraud, force and coercion are the three types of suppression by others:
- Fraud: Things done to us without our consent that we are unaware of
- Force: Things that we can not say no to even if we know about it and disagree
- Coercion: The usual manifestation of force occurs as the threat-of-force, which is coercion, or ‘forcible compulsion’. This is where we are not actually forced, but obey because of the threat of force occurring if we do not obey.

Suppression from:
Other people
- Put-down’s from friends, family, peers, etc. over the years influence you to program your self with self-defeating habits, conditioning, and beliefs
- By looking to ‘Higher Authorities’ we give away the personal power of self-guidance, and therefore our integrity and self-respect.
- Acceptance of false guilt, which has many faces. E.g. The child whose parent denies them the right to choose by making the child feel ‘bad’ for the desire or interest.
- “Your parents are frightened, your educators are frightened, the governments and religions are frightened of your becoming a total individual, because they all want you to remain safely within the prison of environmental and cultural influences.†– Krishnamurti
Government
- E.g. UK’s Driver & Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) who will take and crush my car if I do not pay them a certain fee every year. I am compelled to obey due to the threat of force.
- The current publication is concerned primarily with Internal Processing. Societal Processing, which includes Processing the Government is covered in Transmuting Society available on http://societal.supercivilisation.net
- After all, the days are gone where debate over the beneficence of government is necessary. We now understand that if the rights of one are upheld, then so are the rights of every-one. And this needs a government with a very small and narrow function. Thus government reduces to the simple function of preventing the initiation of force or fraud. Whether on a national scale of protection against terrorism, or a local scale from protection against criminals and parasites. No other ‘public service’ is offered by the Government, as business provides the 6 Gifts
White collar hoax
- Working in large corporations you may notice levels of ‘do nothing to get the work done’ layers of prestigious management.
- The normal worker is kept in routine ruts that prevent their career progression.
- The wealth of companies is drained and then left bankrupted as per: “the clintonian spawned dot.com, Enron/Global Crossings/WorldCom business pathologies. Those ersatz CEOs abetted by their complicit lawyers operate not as hard-working, honest business executives but rather as easy-route, dishonest political manipulators.  With their lawyers and political bribes, they scam billions from investors while degrading or ruining lives by the millions of innocent investors and value-producing employees.†– NT
Suppression can limit us through our acceptance of the suppression, or from its effect on how quickly we can get things done (time limitation).
What are the Limiters and Blocks?
The above talks of the causes of failure. We are obviously not here to accept that. But we must first recognize what failure is, so we can move forward. Now that we have done that, those three causes of failure (laziness, lack of knowledge, and suppression) can become blockages or limitations that can be processed and removed. This is done via Gathering Intent, in which ‘laziness’ becomes ‘degree of intent’, because it is no longer laziness that blocks us, but a low amount of intent that slows us.
On Gathering Intent two other factors emerge as limiters that need to be processed: Time and Resources.
This means that the reasons we are not yet fulfilling our intent is because of:
- Lack of knowledge
- Suppression
- Degree of Intent (formerly ‘laziness’)
- Time
- Resources
Resources
It is valid that our current situation limits what we can do, that is plain. You only have so many contacts, so much money, knowledge, skill, assets, etc. This can indeed inhibit the speed of your progress, and it will.
It is also correct that with a greater degree of intent, one person can achieve far more far quicker given the same set of initial resources that another person has who has a lesser degree of intent.
In time, and with accomplishment, we acquire greater resources.
Time
Time is the distance between cause and effect.
Despite suppression, most, if not all external blockages to the acquisition of our value’s can be eliminated over time. We can build the integrations through time that are necessary for fulfilling our life’s desires and needs.
Time becomes the only external limitation to our creativity once suppression is removed. Then as our internal limitations are sublimated, we move to crossing the bar to Real Transcendence as we learn to fully exist in the here-and-now through creation and reflection.
When we are not limited by the three causes of failure, time remains as the only limitation to our creativity. But our experience of time changes so that we never feel reduced because we are waiting for something, for everything that we feel should be is happening right now.
Life becomes full of Magick and Love, as per the Manifestation of Intent sections.
Degree of Intent
Don’t let your current reality justify lack of progress. Recognize what you have, and then free your mind to expand into evermore creative activity via Gathering Intent.

So just what is the mental process that accepts and creates Failure?..
Why do those Blockages exist?
The following chapters attempts to build a matrix of the areas that reflect why these blockages exist, what creates them and what maintains them.
Source of our Experience
‘Your truth, my truth, whose truth is truth?’
Everyone has a ‘model’ that they maintain through which they perceive and *understand* reality. We interpret or judge a situation in a particular way reflecting our model of reality.
Subjective experience is the individual interpretation of events. Objective reality is the understanding of existence that we have outside of the field of individual differences in perceptions, gained by integrating sense perceptions with logical concepts and principles.
“Reality in the final analysis, reality in a fully integrated epistemological context, is abstraction. It is the aggregate of abstract principles that are completely independent of any particular observer and his experience, and as such reality is objective.†– Yasuhiko Kimura
It is within the subjective ‘world’ that we create different ‘realities’ for ourself. Existence exists, but our reality of existence is subject to the way we use our consciousness.
Sidebar: This is part of what is meant by the idea of the mental being the cause of the manifestation of the universe that we experience. ‘Thought and thing are one in the same’.
Note: Understanding the above is not important. In fact, none of this publication is accurate or important. Reader beware. It is presented here as ideas for your reflection, and further investigation should you be compelled to pursue any of this over time.
Brain Lateralisation
The brain has two sides, two hemispheres, which carry out different functions. The right brain is more holistic and creative. The left-brain is more logical and rational.
Brain lateralisation occurs where the two hemispheres operate conflictingly with each other, as is the case with perceptivity-centered consciousness. This is the natural animal kingdom inherited automatic process of the brain.
By the natural function of the brain, the universe seems fragmented; polarized. Dualities are perceived. Things are conceived as having polar opposites, e.g. heat and cold, good and bad. But this is more apparent than real. E.g. Hot is only hot in relation (relative), to Cold. It is our experience of temperatures that gives us a range of temperatures, from which we create the abstractions of hot and cold. In actual fact, what is happening to the object is that the molecules are vibrating at different speeds, thus temperature is a man made conceptual identification (abstraction).
But these polarities are interdependent. That is, they exist together. Without one, the other cannot exist. Without Hot, there can be no understanding of Cold. Thus, in fact, Hot and Cold are one in the same thing, just a different extreme of the same phenomena.
It is the natural tendency of mental tension between the polar opposites that brings those things and its full range (etc. > warm > tepid > cool > etc.) into our view of reality.
The problem of brain lateralisation (of the unbalanced perceptions of the mind) lies somewhere along a thin line of the brains necessary functions of differentiation & integration, and the blockages of mind such as self-dishonesty and irrationality which distort the perceptions and so cause unbalance between the workings of the two hemispheres.
Ironically, differentiation and discrimination, is not only what we do, but what we do by necessity, and is a requirement to be able to successfully synchronise the hemispheres. … You cannot see ‘One’ if you can not see ‘Two’.
“Discrimination, as the proverb rightly teaches, is the beginning of mind. 
The first psychic product of that initial psychic act is numerical: to discriminate is to produce two, the simplest possible example of multiplicity. 
The discovery, or better the invention, better still the production, best of all the creation, of multiplicity with its correlate of number, is, therefore, the most primitive achievement or manifestation of mind…
Let us, then, trust the arithmetic instinct as fundamental and, for instruments of thought that shall not fail, repair at once to the domain of number.†– C. J. Keyser, Loc. Cit.
Consciousness
Consciousness operates by self-referential introspection using the brains reasoning abilities of discrimination/differentiation and integration.
Our choice is to let the automatic reactivity of our mind control us by our natural perceptual-based cognition, or for us to learn to control it by our development into wider contextual integration. I.e. perceptivity-centered consciousness versus contextual-centered consciousness.
Perceptivity-centered consciousness
“Perceptivity-centered modality emulates the bicameral mind and takes perception as the conclusive picture of reality while using concepts in an unintegrated manner to rationalize perception.†Yasuhiko Kimura
Take for example the simple and common analogy of the cup being either half empty or half full. The cup may be taken to be half empty; possibly coming from disappointments and pessimism’s about life. On the other hand the cup may be taken as half-full; perhaps via a more optimistic outlook.
The cup, by actual quantity, can have the same amount, yet it can be seen as being either less or more, depending on the persons view point.
This results from an interpretation of perception, based on a distorted biased version of reality.
“Today, most adults think by an opposite process. They begin their thought processes with discrete percepts, concepts, ideas, emotions. From those segments rise the larger segments or thoughts used to make decisions, take actions, and experience emotions. The problem is that those segments can be manipulated and distorted to fit almost any illusion or dishonesty promoted by this anticivilisation. Such distortions yield life-diminishing decisions and actions. …That method of thinking builds profound dishonesties, often well hidden, that block a person’s capacity to gain wide-scope understandings and valuable new knowledge.†– Neo-Tech
From a perceptual based cognition we arrive at ‘the truth’, a manipulable construct based on fixed dogmatic viewpoints, and brain lateralisation is dominant.
Context-centered consciousness
When context cannot distinctly be seen then the hemispheres are unbalanced. The greater the tension between polar opposites, as if they were separate & distinct & static, instead of relative & fluid & dynamic, then the more the person will experience feelings of “separation, fear, anxiety, and isolationâ€.
Contradictions do not exist in reality. But relative contextual understandings do. Hence such ‘esoteric’ phrases as: “The ALL is in All, and All is in The ALLâ€, and “Nothing is True, and Everything is Possibleâ€.
When our mind-space is able to deal with such abstract and contextual ideas in a fluid wide-scope manner of honest logic and reason in a life supporting way, then balance is being created between the two hemispheres of the brain. From a contextual based cognition we are openly and freely honest.
The Ego
There are 2 types of ego:
- A real ego, meaning your I-ness, your sense of self, your ‘I’ as in ‘I am’. This is the you without any pretending about who you are and what you feel; it is the sense of self that accepts and acknowledges your own honest perceptions.
- Then there is the other self, the false ego. From the early process of learning to pretend, we have covered up the real ego and created a pseudo-ego. It is this false ego that the many spiritual/‘mystical’ teachers mean when they say that we must eliminate our ego in order to transcend.
The Ego as Identification
By first of all pretending our honest evaluation of experiences, and then by building into that pretence the association and identification with certain feelings, we create a duality of mind (and hence a duality with body and spirit).
This pretence and duality spreads out into our views and perceptions of the world around us.
Flame, living in Great Britain, was always curious about the comments made by people about the weather. He saw how much it affected them. Sure he liked sunny warm days, but what he saw was that when the sky was cloudy, so were people’s lives. The weather wasn’t ‘fresh, peaceful, or just ‘cloudy’, rather it was ‘miserable, dull, depressing’. He saw that people associated emotions with the weather. Thus the weather that was external to them directly effected the ‘weather’ that was inside them. Nathan thought that is not very ‘bright’ of them.
Our ‘Ego’ identifies with the pretence and so creates a false belief system.

Your expectations, demands, hopes, fears, addictions, motivations, past experience, your language system, your individual accumulation of ideas, theories, and intellectual stuff, your emotions, the structure and functioning of your nervous system and the feedback from your entire body all interact in a complex way to produce your perceptions.†– Ken Keyes
Your false ego IS the system of thought that you hold.

We try to protect the model that we have because our ego has identified with it, and thus any attack on our model is seen by our ego as an attack on our self. As children we develop this ‘territory’ of our ‘self’.
Time out: Is this making sense? I hope so. This Component of Blockages to Intent is perhaps the most intellectually demanding and difficult.
